sacred tapestry

May you have eyes to see how the Master Weaver is weaving for your good - His glory.

This piece was pulling at my attention as it sat on my counter. It kept pulling me in, holding my attention, and causing me to keep sending up prayers for the meaning of it all.

Often, I paint without an end in mind, and then this sacred work or meaning, or nudge, will it me, and I know what corner of my soul the work came from.

This piece is the underside of a well-ordered, beautiful tapestry. But, this view is the stitches, the colorful threads that fail to reveal the whole picture. This is the only view we get this side of eternity. We don’t understand why that dream wasn’t realized, or the baby never came, or why the diagnosis will not disappear.

It is the underside of the beautiful work of a Master Weaver.

He is always good even when we feel thread bare and undone. He keeps weaving, planning, and finishing his work. He keep weaving, and he can somehow take a tragedy and weave it into the fabric of our lives and create something beautiful.
