don’t clip her wings
8 inches x 8 inches
watercolor and acrylic on paper
This was one of my first pieces and I dedicated it to my daughter, Piper. As I was reseaching and reading books about creating a kind of Rite of Passage year for Piper, I found this quote at the beginning of one of the books. Malala’s father said this when he was asked about how his daughter was raised in such a way that she did not shy away from living in a place of impact and vision.
“Do not ask me what I did. Ask me what I didn’t do. I did not clip her wings”
