This painting was finished and titled, only for me to return to it months later. After re-working the piece, it was renamed. The final name “homecoming” made sense to the buyer. She was in a season of coming home to herself and laying down some old ways that her ego went out into the world previously. She was moving from a sense of force to a sense of flow. She was being undone and remade in a way that felt foreign but sustainable. She was having her own king of homecoming.
